Casino Reviews: Bellagio

BellagioThe Bellagio stands out as one of the famous names on the Las Vegas Strip. Featuring a famous dancing water fountain and shooting to immortality in the film Ocean’s Eleven where George Clooney and a host of other A list stars stole millions of dollars from the sophisticated vault in the bowels of the casino. But what’s the reality of the place? How is the gaming there and does it deserve its reputation?

The Bellagio casino has many facets to it. There are the poker rooms, slot machines and table games.

The poker rooms are in fact one large poker room, seven thousand feet squared. Within this space are forty poker tables and two high limit poker areas. One is entitled Bobby’s Room after the Las Vegas legend Bobby Baldwin winner of the nineteen seventy eight World Series of Poker and also the chief design and construction officer of the MGM Mirage. But don’t expect to be gambling there, there are only two tables available in this high stakes enclave and each chip played is worth more money than most people earn in a year. The Bellagio poker room is one of the more famous stops on the World Poker Tour.

The Bellagio has a surprisingly high number of table games available, as well as the expected classics such as Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Three Card Poker there are lesser known games such as Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow and Let it Ride. Pai Gow is a game brought to Vegas from the Far East and involves a mixture of dominos and dice with both the casino and the player taking turns to take on the role of the bank.

The slot machines in the Bellagio range in price and payout with the highest jackpot being a whopping two hundred thousand dollars. There are many of the more sophisticated machines there with names like Indiana Jones and Sex in the City there’s a definite Hollywood feel to many of them. Some machines are more like computers and which allow the gambler to play versions of poker on them but for traditionalists there are still plenty of one arm bandits to be found.

In short the Bellagio is a deluxe, luxurious casino offering all manner of games and gambling entertainment with free food and drink on offer, the service comes with a smile, though make sure to tip the waitresses. The Casino B Blog gives it a well deserved 9/10
